natalie is 38 inches tall! instead of having a doctor tell me, i just measure her on the ride charts at the zoo! and instead of paying for the big rides, we spent 50cents for this lil guy and look at what a blast she had!
this is inside the conservatory. very lush but very humid!
the lion sleeps tonight...
i think the zookeeper holding the head is making a ROARing sound!
ostrich's crack me up. they look tame. this one stood in the same spot the entire time we walked around the exhibit. yet they're wild! i actually rode one in south africa. you hold on to their wings which are HUGE and they run around like they've gone mad. i laughed so hard the whole time. i just can't look at them the same anymore! i think he's even giving me the evil-eye like i was going to jump on his back or something! love those stripes! except the ones in between the eyes make me dizzy!
giraffes are my favorite. they are so graceful.
the butterfly exhibit was excellent. it's amazing how many there are flying around right past you!
this flower butterfly sculpture was covered in real butterflies.
i wanted to take nat's picture to document her outfit - she picked it of course. but then i got all these cute ones of her with tinsley! trying to get tinsley to say CHEESE! we have been seeing a lot of this face lately!
when we're away from home she will say in a sad voice, "i just want to go home and snuggle with my brother." (and she says brother now, no more brudder.)
we had a really fun playgroup centered on canada. thanks sam and ozzy! ozzy, audrey, natalie and dash i love how natalie is eyeing audrey holding her puzzle. "okay, the puzzle is back in my safe-keeping. we can hug now." always sweet, always happy annabelle!
about me...i'm just a regular person :) my husband is amazing and my daughter is precocious! and darling and fun and sweet and all the things that all mothers think their children are! currently i'm on sabbatical and living in sunny minneapolis! i love my new surroundings! oh, and our fourth family member is our dog who spends most of his time up on the furniture. sorry rental company!
